If you're planning a holiday in Protaras and looking for something that goes beyond the usual beach day, a private boat trip might be exactly what you need. We've been running them for years from our little cove between Fig Tree Bay and Konnos Bay, and they consistently rank among the most memorable things our guests do during their entire stay in Cyprus.
Here's everything you need to know.
What Is a Private Boat Trip at Green Bay?
Unlike group boat tours where you're sharing a large vessel with 30+ strangers, our boat trips are genuinely private. Your group gets the entire boat to yourselves, along with a friendly and experienced captain who knows these waters inside out.
We run two premium boats — a MasterCraft X-Star and a Malibu Wakesetter — and we'll assign the right one based on your group size and the day's schedule. Both are immaculate, powerful speedboats more commonly associated with wakeboarding and wakesurfing, which means they're built for performance, comfort and fun, not just transportation.
What's Included?
A lot, actually. Here's what comes with every private boat trip:
Experienced captain — Andreas or one of our team, who knows the coastline, the best swimming spots, and where to find marine life
Snorkeling equipment — so you can jump in whenever you find a spot you love
Music of your choice — connect your phone and set the soundtrack for your trip
Swimming stops — we anchor up in beautiful spots along the coast for you to swim, snorkel and explore
The chance to spot sea turtles — we know the areas where turtles feed and rest, and sightings on boat trips are common
Drinks and good vibes — feel free to bring a cooler on board
What you get is essentially a floating private experience tailored entirely to your group.
Where Do You Go?
We explore one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline in the entire Mediterranean — from our bay in Protaras all the way to the Famagusta border in one direction, and Cape Greco and the famous Blue Lagoon in the other.
Along the way you'll pass dramatic sea caves and rock arches carved by the sea over thousands of years, hidden swimming coves only accessible by boat, and water so clear you can see the bottom from metres above. Cape Greco in particular is breathtaking — a protected national park where the limestone cliffs meet the sea and the colour of the water shifts from turquoise to deep blue within metres.
The Blue Lagoon is one of those spots that genuinely lives up to its name. Calm, sheltered, impossibly clear — we anchor up here for swimming stops and it's consistently one of the highlights of any trip.
For the adventurous ones in the group, cliff jumping is also on the table depending on conditions and what your group is up for. There are some brilliant spots along the route — we'll let you know on the day what's possible.
The exact route always depends on sea conditions, wind and what your group wants from the day — some people want to cover as much coastline as possible, others prefer to find one perfect spot and stay there. We're flexible and happy to tailor the trip entirely around you.
A Little Extra on Longer Trips
On longer trips we like to make things even more special. Depending on the duration you book, we'll throw in either a round of drinks on board or/and a UFO ride — our inflatable water toy that gets towed behind the boat and guarantees a lot of laughing. Ask us about this when you get in touch and we'll let you know exactly what's included based on your trip.
The Boats
We run two premium boats and we'll assign the right one based on your group size and the day's schedule — so you don't need to choose, we'll take care of that.
The MasterCraft X-Star is a head-turner. Sleek, powerful and with a distinctive profile, it's the kind of boat that makes people on the shore stop and stare. It comfortably holds up to 10 people when there are children in the group.
The Malibu Wakesetter — Eleonore, as we call her — has been with us since 2017 and has made a lot of people very happy. She holds up to 9 guests and has a relaxed feel on the water.
Both boats are immaculate and built for performance, comfort and fun. You're in good hands either way.
How Many People Can Join?
The Malibu holds up to 9 guests and the MasterCraft up to 10 when there are children in the group. Either way, keeping numbers small means everyone gets proper attention, the boat never feels crowded, and the experience stays personal rather than feeling like a tour.
Got a bigger group? Get in touch and we'll arrange multiple boats running together. We do this regularly for hen and stag parties, corporate outings and birthday celebrations — it works brilliantly.
How Much Does It Cost?
A one hour private boat trip is €220, which is where most guests start — it's enough time to head out along the coastline, make a swimming stop or two, and really soak it all in. For longer trips with more distance to cover, Cape Greco, the Blue Lagoon all the way to Famagusta border and back, we'll put together a custom quote based on your group size and what you have in mind.
Just drop us a message and we'll come back to you quickly with options. For a fully private experience on a premium boat with a knowledgeable captain included, it's genuinely excellent value compared to what you'd pay for similar experiences elsewhere on the island.
When Is the Best Time to Go?
Honestly, any time from May through October is wonderful. The sea is warm, the skies are reliably clear, and the light on the water in the late afternoon is something else entirely.
Morning trips tend to be calmer on the water — ideal if you have younger children or anyone who tends to get sunburned easily. Late afternoon trips catch the golden hour light and are particularly magical for couples or groups who want that sunset feeling on the water.
How to Book
Head to our Boat Trips page and fill in the quick enquiry form, or just give us a call. We typically respond within a few hours and we're always happy to answer questions before you commit.
Summer books up fast — especially July and August — so if you have specific dates in mind, the earlier you reach out the better.
We'll see you on the water. 🌊
